Dear New Pag-asa Member,
Welcome to PAG-ASA.
We are very glad that you have decided to join our organization. Our goal is to foster unity, goodwill and friendship among Filipino-Americans in Gainesville and surrounding areas. Our activities will aim to have a better understanding of Philippine culture and history and its relevance to our adopted country. We will also participate in community-wide activities (cultural, educational, charitable, religious, and civic) in Gainesville and surrounding areas in order to facilitate the integration and assimilation of our members into our adopted community.
We are confident that the network of friends which you will establish by being a member of our organization will be valuable in helping you make good decisions and choices in your activities as a resident of our city. The members of our organization are of different background, occupation, expertise and interests which serve as a rich reservoir of excellent ideas for the achievement of our goals. We have different activities planned all throughout the year which you and your family will surely enjoy. Our Easter Picnic and Halloween Ball have been very popular with families who have children in their teens or younger. The Luau, Karaoke Night and New Year’s Ball are very well attended by members who love ballroom dancing. The March of Dimes and the Heart Walk are popular with members who are into health, fitness and charity.
We are looking forward to seeing you in our meetings so that we could benefit from your ideas and visions for our organization. We are also hopeful that the contribution of your time and talent towards the realization of our goals would surely make our organization more vibrant, productive and successful. Your participation in the conceptualization, planning and preparation of our future activities would be greatly appreciated. I am sure that the present members as well as the other officers will be very glad to meet you.
